The restaurant has quietly opened its doors in a brand new location

Saigon House, the Vietnamese spot known for its wildly popular “H-Town Bang” crawfish, has officially made a comeback.

The restaurant quietly opened its doors at 3645 FM 1960 West, Suite 198, this week, and is now slinging its famed Viet-Cajun crawfish via online orders. Originally located in Midtown, Saigon House closed its doors at that location in September 2019, but not until after earning a devoted crowd of fans obsessed with its pho and crawfish. Plans for the 1960 location were in the works even prior to that closure, but the space just recently wrapped up its city inspections.

Saigon House is helmed by chef Tony J. Nguyen, who is also in the process of working with MasterChef winner Christine Ha on her much-anticipated new restaurant Xin Chao. That spot, which will serve dishes like tamarind king crab and Wagyu pho, is set to open at 2310 Decatur Street in the coming months. Ahead of Saigon House’s opening at the 1960 location, Nguyen has been slinging crawfish via a private Facebook group.

Right now, Saigon House’s menu is pretty limited, but plans to add signature dishes like oxtail pho are in the works. In the meantime, diners can score spicy boiled crawfish and quarts of H-Town Bang or “Thai Surprise” sauce alongside corn, potatoes, and sausage. Shrimp egg rolls and fried seafood baskets are also on the menu.

Saigon House is currently open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. for pick-up and delivery only, and delivery’s free for orders within a 10 mile radius. A recent post to the restaurant’s Facebook page indicates that sell-outs are a possibility, so check the Saigon House website for availability.
